Wegagen Capital Swings to 46.58m Br Profit in Second Year

Wegagen Capital Investment Bank (WCIB) posted a pre-tax profit of 46.58 million Br in the financial year ended 2025/26, reversing the 10.6 million Br net loss it booked in its first year of operation.

Revenues reached 140.99 million Br, while profit after tax would be 43.7 million Br, a 54.3 million Br swing from the prior year. Brokerage services contributed 4.9pc of total revenue, generated on securities transactions worth 2.69 billion Br executed over the period.

The results were disclosed at the Investment Bank's annual general meeting, convened at Kuriftu Resort & Spa in the Oromia Regional State today, August 20, 2026. Abdishu Hussein, vice chairperson of the Board, chaired the meeting and presented the annual performance to shareholders.

"This performance demonstrates the effectiveness of the strategy implemented by the Bank's business model," Abdishu said.
