Piles of shredded papers in the Merkato area hold potential for decorative repurposing. Recycling paper offers substantial environmental benefits. According to the Townsville City Council, recycling one ton of paper saves approximately 17 trees, 90pc less water, and 50pc less energy compared to producing paper from scratch.
