United Insurance became the third financial institution to hand over financial support to the Ministry of Health, joining the ongoing effort to contain the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Meseret Bezabih, CEO of United, handed over a three million Birr cheque to Dereje Gutema (MD), state minister for Health, yesterday, March 25, 2020.
United Insurance became the third financial institution to hand over financial support to the Ministry of Health, joining the ongoing effort to contain the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
On the same date, United Bank donated five million Birr to the Ministry. Commercial Bank of Ethiopia pioneered the donations from the financial industry by contributing 10 million Br to the Ministry of Health a week ago.
So far, there are a total of 12 confirmed cases in Ethiopia with no deaths or recoveries. Two of the Japanese who have acquired the virus were taken back to their country, while the remaining are being treated here.
