The retail price of cement in the capital is set to be below 1,200 Br. The Cement Manufacturers Board announced prices for distributors and retailers, complying with a directive of the Ministry of Trade & Regional Integrations (MoTRI).
Adugna Bekele, the board chairman, expects the directive would address the shortage of cement in the market and price fluctuations.
He pledged cement would be available on the market with the revised price beginning next week.
Officials at the Ministry announced they wanted a limited regulatory mandate to monitor transactions a month ago.
