Officials of the National Election Board (NEBE) have rescheduled voters' registration deadline, shifting it from February 14 to March 7, 2026.
The change followed a two-week extension granted to the candidate registration period.
Digital registration will be implemented in regions possessing 3G or faster internet connectivity. For areas with restricted internet access, officials will facilitate registration using tablets at designated polling stations. According to Melatwork Hailu, chief of the Board, certain locations will proceed with manual registration processes.
"All other timelines within the electoral schedule, including the election date, are to remain consistent, until further notice." she said addressing the media today at the Skylight Hotel, off the Africa Avenue (Bole Road).
