The Addis Abeba City Council has ratified a 350 billion Br budget for the 2025/26 fiscal year. The two-day session included a detailed presentation by Deputy Mayor and Finance Bureau Head, Abdulkadir Redwan, who presented the fiscal plan.
The budget allocates 71.4pc to capital expenditures, with the remaining 100.1 billion Br designated for recurrent spending.
According to city officials, the budget targets to enhance public safety, promote sustainable development, stimulate job creation, facilitate major infrastructure projects, and improve service delivery in response to citizen needs.
Thr Council confirmed key leadership appointments, including Abdulkadir Redwan as deputy mayor, solidifying his position. Mekonon Yaie was also appointed to lead the City Land Administration Bureau.
