The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has inaugurated its 48-storey headquarters.

Senior government officials, including Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), attended the inauguration ceremony on Ras Desta Damtew Street today.

The state-owned Bank joins the head offices of Hibret and Nib banks in Sengatera - the Wall Street of Addis Abeba.

The China State Construction Engineering Corporation erected the building - the tallest in the capital - at a cost of 303.5 million dollars.

Close to 10pc of the CBE’s workforce of 60,000 will move into the headquarters.
