The Mayor’s Office has introduced a new procedure to address complaints related to tax collection and revenue services in Addis Abeba. The mechanism complements the existing system at the City Administration Revenue Bureau, targeting cases where taxpayers remain dissatisfied with issues around revenue collection, staff conduct, or service delivery. As part of the initiative, the City Administration launched a free call center, 9977, and a confidential complaint box, allowing citizens to raise concerns directly with senior officials. The system became operational starting December 4, 2025, and will process income-related complaints daily from 2 a.m. to 7 p.m.
