New Duty-Free Store Opens at Skylight Hotel

Country Trading PLC announced the opening of its second duty-free store, dubbed 'Millennium Duty Free', located inside Skylight Hotel last week. The store will also cater to the city's diplomatic corps in addition to transit Ethiopian Airlines' transit passengers staying at the hotel. Ashenafi Embeza, head of Country Trading PLC, stated that the company aims to provide an elevated shopping experience for international travelers while generating forex earnings. The store will offer products including alcohol, perfume, accessories, and fine foods. Biniyam Berhe, owner of Country Trading, noted the company's duty-free shop in the airport now operational for several years. He adds that the new store aims to reach international guests staying at the hotel. “Locals cannot purchase from the shops,” he said, adding that they are planning to open a shop for locals in the future.
