Any representation between customs brokers and importers must now be processed through the Document Authentication & Registration Service, the Customs Commission announced. The Commission stated it is strengthening professional standards by providing training and competency certification for individuals seeking to operate as customs brokers. Officials noted that, in the past, such representations were neither registered nor verified by an authorised public body. The authenticity of tax collection stamps was also unclear, weakening oversight and enabling trade-related fraud. The Commission urged all brokers and importers to ensure that future representations are formally verified through the Document Authentication & Registration Service.
