Addis Abeba Revenue Bureau Activates Body-Worn Cameras Across Four Districts

The Addis Abeba Revenue Bureau has begun using 280 body-worn cameras to monitor field staff starting this month, with live audio and video transmitted to central and branch offices. The system is operating in Mercato 1, Mercato 2, Bole and Nifas Silk-Lafto, where teams of three officers check receipt-issuance compliance within defined zones; any movement outside assigned areas triggers instant alerts. The setup ensures officers work in pairs and every taxpayer interaction is captured. The rollout starting December 03, 2025, now covers more than 800 monitoring personnel.
