Dine For Nation Garners 1.4b Br

Dine For Nation, a gala dinner hosted by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) intended to raise funds for the rehabilitation of tourist destination sites, has garnered 1.39 billion Br of its three-billion-Birr goal. Commercial Bank of Ethiopia contributed the lion's share, singlehandedly bestowing 1.1 Billion Br to the cause. The contribution cheque was presented to the Prime Minister in the presence of the governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia, Yinager Dessie (PhD), and other board members of the Bank. So far, 26 other private and governmental institutions have deposited 275 million Br through four rounds of deposits, while a little over 10 million Birr has been collected from the Ethiopian diaspora. Tickets for the gala dinner cost 10 million Br and five million Br a plate for VVIP and VIP, respectively. The three projects to be developed are found in Gorgora in Amhara Regional State; Koisha in Southern Nations, Nationalities & Peoples' Regional State; and Wonchi in Oromia Regional State.
