Solomon Mulugeta, general manager of Ethiopia's Metal & Engineering Industries Association, told the media last week that metal products imported to the country have threatened to put 76 large and medium domestic manufacturers out of the market. He complained that the discounted import prices upon which the metal products are subjected to customs duty are "impossible to believe."
