Linda Thomas-Greenfield, US Ambassador to the United Nations, said referring to the African Union (AU), after Egypt and Sudan both called on the Security Council to help resolve the dispute over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). Ethiopia, which began filling the reservoir for the second year, has been insisting that the matter should be addressed at the level of the AU and not the Security Council.
