Apr 16 , 2022

The Addis Abeba City Landholding Registration & Information Agency has launched land validation and declaration services in parts of the capital. Registration will proceed until September in 25 areas located in 10 of the city's 11 districts, with the exception of Lemi Kura. Officials expect the process to cover 22,000 properties and 40,000 condominium units. Meanwhile, all land-related services have been paused in these areas apart from the processing of land-related disputes and legal issues. Officials say areas not chosen will continue providing services as usual. In the three years beginning 2015, the Agency has registered and documented over 118,000 plots and more than 160,000 condominium units using a cadastral registration system in four rounds.
