The Addis Abeba City Administration has suspended, for the second time in a year, the transfers of title deeds for unmovable properties effective beginning yesterday, December 9.
Chief of the Cabinet Secretariat, Biniam Mikru, signed the circular which ordered officials in the 11 districts and land management bureaus to comply.
City officials claim the suspension is enforced to combat illicit transactions. It remains unclear how long the latest round of suspension will last.
