Feb 29 , 2020

Owners of Eco Lodge put the property, which is located 35Km west of Addis Abeba in the town of Menagesha Kolobo, up for sale. Resting on 6,000Sqm of land, the property is up for sale with an initial asking price of 15 million Br. The Lodge, which is owned by a foreigner, holds a 70-year lease on the land. The decision to sell the Lodge was reached, because of the owner's plan to move to the United States and embark on another venture, according to Tigest Negash, the Lodge's manager. "We're in a rush to sell the Lodge and move into another business," said Tigest. "It can be transformed into an embassy, an NGO [headquarters] or a retreat resort." The Lodge has 10 furnished rooms, a wedding garden, a traditional restaurant, a bar, a butcher shop and a meeting hall with a seating capacity of 175 people. It also has spaces dedicated to camping, hiking, horseback riding, a kid's playground, and basketball court areas. The construction of the Lodge took almost seven years, but it still does not have a business license, according to the manager.
