Commission Inaugurates New Communication System

Jun 29 , 2019

The Federal Police Commission has inaugurated Addis Abeba Regional Project Public Safety Radio Communication System that enables the police to have secure radio communication. Endashaw Tassew, the commissioner of the Federal Police Commission, announced the deployment of the system on June 25, 2019. The system, which allows for the integrated communication of the police, fire rescue, ambulance and other rescue workers, was built by Motorola Solutions, a US company headquartered in Chicago. The old system that was analogue and intermittent had problems in transmitting messages in long range, according to the Commissioner. “Critical communication is a core component of any police work,” said Endashaw. Federal Police is working on deploying 100 stations for the new communications system at three regional states.
