Economists and policymakers urged a shift toward a more adaptive development strategy as global challenges reshape the country’s economic future. The message was delivered at the 23rd International Conference on the Ethiopian Economy, hosted by the Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA). Finance Minister Ahmed Shide noted 9.2 pc economic growth over the past year, is supported by agriculture, services, and industry, while stressing the need to improve export competitiveness, implementation, and productive employment. Participants discussed reforms, resilience, and strategies to sustain the country’s economic transformation amid global uncertainty. The conference reviewed economic reforms and resilience strategies, also recognised Professor Berhanu Nega (Prof.) and Assefa Admassie (PhD) for their contributions to the EEA.
