The Ethiopian Freight Forwarders & Shipping Agents Association (EFFSAA) has graduated a new cohort of professionals from the internationally recognised FIATA Diploma Programme, bolstering efforts to strengthen Ethiopia’s logistics and freight forwarding sector. EFFSAA President Dawit Wubshet (PhD) said the association has trained more than 495 professionals since launching the programme. He noted that EFFSAA is working with international partners to expand digital learning and introduce online training platforms to modernise professional development in the industry. State Minister for Transport & Logistics Dhenge Boru said the graduates are expected to contribute to the growth of the country’s logistics sector and support preparations for the 2027 FIATA World Congress in Addis Abeba by building international business networks and securing opportunities with global logistics firms. He added that expanded digital learning will improve access to internationally recognised training and help develop the skilled workforce needed to host the 2027 FIATA World Congress. The graduating class includes participants from government institutions, private companies and international organisations. This year’s programme introduced a fully customised curriculum tailored to the needs of Ethiopia’s freight forwarding and logistics industry, combining practical and advanced professional training aligned with operational requirements.
