The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a financing package worth 110 million dollars for Ethiopia’s 300MW Aysha Wind Project, the country’s first privately developed wind power plant. The 508 million dollar project, developed by UAE-based AMEA Power, will be built in the Somali Regional State under Ethiopia’s first Independent Power Producer (IPP) model for wind energy. The wind farm is expected to generate 1,189GWh of electricity annually.
