The administration of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has promoted Yasmin Wohabrebbi to a state minister for Finance in charge of economic cooperation as of July 14, 2020.
Working at the Ministry for the past year as director of International Financial Institutions Cooperation, Yasmin re-joining the Ministry last year; she was with the Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA) for a little over five years. She had also worked at the then Ministry of Finance & Economic Cooperation for six years and a half at different capacities.
An economist by training doing her undergraduate studies at Gonder University, Yasmin received her post graduate studies in International Trade Policy & Trade Law from University of Lund, in Sweden.
She has replaced Admasu Nebebe, who resigned last month after serving for three years, to join the African Development Bank (AfDB). Prior to his latest post, he has served as director of the UN Agencies and Regional Economic Cooperation Directorate of the Ministry tasked with mobilizing external funding for development programmes, monitoring and evaluating programmes’ implementation.
Abebe Tadesse, director of project development and monitoring at the PPP Directorate, replaced Yasmin as director of International Financial Institutions Cooperation.
