Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), the state-owned giant, has pledged 10 million Br to the Ministry of Health, joining the national effort to fight Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Ministry will use the money to procure hand sanitizers, soap, face masks, gloves and other medical equipment to be used at the quarantine centres to people who have acquired the virus.
Yeka-Kotebe General Hospital is the largest medical facility the country that is used to isolate, treat and contain the virus.
Abie Sano, president of the Bank, announced the pledge at the Bank's headquarters accompanied by Seharela Abdulahi, state minister for Health.
As of the end of last week, the Ministry announced that nine individuals have acquired the virus - four Japanese, three Ethiopians, an Australian and a UK citizen.
