Zemen Insurance Appoints Frehiwot as New CEO

Zemen Insurance has named Frehiwot Alemayehu as its third Chief Executive Officer. Frehiwot brings nearly 19 years of experience in the insurance sector and previously served as Deputy CEO of Awash Insurance. Founded six years ago by 926 shareholders, Zemen Insurance Share Company (ZISC) has grown its paid-up capital to 415.3 million Br. The company’s leadership history includes founding CEO Shumetie Zerihun and Endalkachew Zeleke, who led for more than three years. After Endalkachew’s resignation, Biniyam Ayele served as Acting CEO for nearly three months. Frehiwot officially assumed the role last week. At the welcoming ceremony, she expressed gratitude and pledged to accelerate the company’s growth.
