UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan held talks with Ethiopian officials on bilateral relations, with a focus on cooperation in climate action, peace and security. The UAE welcomed Ethiopia’s participation in COP32, with both sides agreeing to work together on climate initiatives launched during COP28. On regional peace and security, the discussions condemned attacks on civilians by warring parties. The ministers also recalled the High-Level Humanitarian Conference for the People of Sudan, co-hosted by the UAE, Ethiopia, IGAD and the African Union on the sidelines of the AU Summit in February 2025, underscoring the need to protect civilians and humanitarian workers.
