Renovations along Cape Verde Street near Rwanda Street have left the usually busy route toward Atlas Hotel eerily empty. Fallen and placed trees are moonlighting as traffic barricades, giving the trees a second life, now working overtime keeping cars at bay instead of just producing oxygen. The unusual sight leaves the street unusually quiet, giving trees a temporary second life as traffic controllers. Drivers are being redirected to alternative routes as authorities continue work to improve safety and infrastructure along the corridor. Even the trees are doing civic duty.
