For the first time, the Ethiopian Transport Employers Federation (ETEF) and the Transport Workers & Communication Utility Industries Federation (TWCUIF) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) seeking to strengthen employer–worker relations and enhancing productivity. TWCUIF President Abathun Takele underscored transport’s critical role in the national economy, cautioning that mismanagement could have severe consequences. He emphasised that improving working conditions and sector results requires a collective effort extending beyond the two federations. Conference participants recommended establishing dedicated platforms to ensure sustained progress, stressing that ongoing cooperation is essential for the growth and stability of the transport sector.
