The Interim Regional Administration (IRA) of Tigray, under the leadership of Gatachew Reda, declared late last week that 91pc of the population in the region faces the risk of starvation. The statement warned that the catastrophe yet to unfold has not been seen since the most tragic events of the mid-1980s.
