A neatly tucked green area around the National Theatre receives renovations as part of a city-wide revamp. Addis Abeba has been glistening ever more green over the past four years as waves of new parks adorn the concrete pavements. Around 41 million trees have been planted across the capital last year. While a fleet of dedicated employees water these plants, nearly 1.7 million residents in the capital receive water only twice a week. The capital's water supply falls short of the residents' daily demand by nearly 500,000 cubic meters.
