INSURERS OPEN UP: Gudissa Legesse, CEO of Awash Insurance

Gudissa Legesse, 51 years old and a father of six, is the new CEO of the 25-year-old Awash Insurance, replacing long-serving CEO Tsegaye Kemsi last month. Gudissa obtained his degree in business administration and a master's degree in marketing management from Addis Abeba University. He has worked in the insurance industry for the past 24 years. Before he joined Awash he served at United Insurance.

What is your biggest fear?

Instability and traffic accidents

What was the brand of your first ever mobile phone?

Nokia 3310

I haven't had an experience like that

How long do you spend on your phone?

A maximum of 30 minutes and that is for international calls

I don't eat meat products in foreign countries

Historical places like Athens, Greece

What is your biggest regret?

Not being a university lecturer

If you get a chance to have dinner with one of the prominent people, with whom you choose to have that supper?

No one, but I enjoy meals with my best friend Bayisa
