Second Phase Corridor Development Commences

Mayor Adanech Abiebie revealed that the second phase of Addis Ababa's corridor development will encompass 132 kilometers and cover 2,817 hectares. The city administration has earmarked five billion birr and 100 hectares for compensation to private property owners who will be displaced by the project. The corridors vary significantly in length, ranging from 3.1 km for the Anbesa Garage-Jakros-Goro corridor to the 40.4 km of the Kasanchis-Estifanos-Meskel Square-Mexico-Churchill-Arat Kilo corridor. They are designed to connect various parts of the city, including residential, commercial, industrial, and recreational areas. While some corridors focus on connecting major transportation hubs and commercial centers, others prioritize urban renewal, environmental conservation, and recreational spaces. Two riverside development projects are also included, namely the Qebena River Corridor and Entoto-Peacock River Corridor.

Wegagen Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Deluxe Properties to support diaspora communities in purchasing homes.
