MedRafa, a healthcare solutions provider, has partnered with WeVenture Hub to integrate pharmacies across Addis Abeba into the country’s digital health ecosystem. This initiative targets to improve e-prescription services, upgrade prescription management, and expand medicine access. Medrafa stated that the platform creates a secure, user-friendly, and scalable system that reduces prescription errors, cuts patient wait times, and strengthens connections between healthcare stakeholders. The system provides management tools, including: purchase order management which smoothens medication orders and ensures stock availability; real-time inventory tracking which monitors stock levels and sends alerts for low inventory. The tools also include expiration date notifications that flags soon-to-expire products to prevent waste, and sales history tracking which records transactions for financial oversight and regulatory compliance. Ben Tesfaye, co-founder of MedRafa, stated that the e-prescription and pharmacy integration service will launch in the capital city first, with plans for expansion.
