United Bank has joined Dashen Bank in easing burdens on its customers, which have been caused by the business slowdown due to fear of coronavirus. The Bank is slashing the commission fee typically charged for import period extension.
The Bank's management has cut the commission fee on one-period extension request for three months by half. The new discount will be effective as of the coming Monday, March 23, 2020. The Bank has also formed a special task force chaired by Melaku Kebede, CEO of the Bank, to work on ensuring all safety cautions are being taken by the Bank.
Yesterday the management of Dashen entirely waived transaction fees on withdrawals from ATMs, commission fees paid to extend the validity of Letters of Credit (LC) and fees for loan rescheduling. It also lifted 50pc of commission fees paid to extend the validity of purchase orders.
