Ethiopian Airlines has halted flights to 30 countries, effective as of today. Passengers travelling from other countries that reported the COVID-19 are expected to be quarantined for 14 days at own expense of passengers, according to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD).
The Airline has incurred a total loss of 190 million dollars due to the coronavirus, disclosed Tewlede Gebermariam, CEO of the Airline Group, which cut flights by 25pc to 30pc.
"It's the biggest crisis in the aviation history of the country," Tewolde told the state broadcaster, Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation.
Ethiopia has a total of nine confirmed cases so far and has closed down schools and universities in response to fight the pandemic
