Awash Capital Receives Operations License

Awash Capital Investment Bank S.C. has been granted an investment banking license by the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) yesterday, November 19, 2025.

Awash Capital is the fourth entity to receive such a license, having formally expressed its interest in joining the capital market in July of this year. The new investment bank, capitalised at 200 million Br, marks the 13th capital market service provider to be licensed by the Authority.

Andualem Hailu (PhD), with over two decades of banking experience, has been appointed as the founding Chief Executive Officer of Awash Capital Investment.

ECMA has also approved the appointment of four representatives and five board members for the institution.
