The Ministry of Trade & Industry has eased business registration and licensing procedures. The new procedures include removing the requirement of authentication and confirmation for a memorandum of association, place of business, business seal stamp and publication of a business name in newspapers. The change was made to modernise the country’s business system, according to Tsegaw Belete, director of the Ministry’s Information Communication Technology division. The new procedure has also cut out the step in which businesses were required to go to the Ministry of Revenues to collect the necessary paperwork. “Now they will be able to get all of that service at one window at the Ministry,” said Tsegaw.
