The Amhara Regional State mining sector says mineral-based import substitute products worth over 246.1 million dollars were produced in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. Bureau spokesperson Zenaw Abebe said 18 mineral exploration projects were completed this year in partnership with regional higher education institutions, identifying deposits used in construction, metal industries, precious minerals and energy production. Officials added that findings have been shared with investors, with 169 mining projects receiving licences over the period.
