The seven-month implementation report for the current fiscal year revealed that manufacturing exports generated 244.8 million dollars, reaching 93pc of the 264.4 million dollars target, according to Zerihun Abebe, Foreign Trade Executive at the Ministry of Industry. Strong performance was recorded in the manufacturing and chemical sectors, while leather, textile, food, and beverage sectors posted moderate results. Overall, exports rose 37pc compared with the same period last year. The government seeks to achieve 450 million dollars in foreign trade by the end of the fiscal year, Sileshi Lema, Deputy Director of the Manufacturing Industry Development Institute, noted. The report was presented in a session attended by senior government officials and manufacturing investors.
