Ethiopian Airlines has launched a new thrice-weekly passenger service to Lyon, France, July 2, 2026, strengthening its European network and enhancing connectivity between Africa and Europe. The new route connects Lyon to Ethiopian Airlines’ global network via Addis Ababa, offering passengers improved travel options and seamless connections to Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and beyond. The Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said the Lyon route strengthens long-standing ties with France, noting the airline’s decades of service linking Paris and Marseille to Africa through Addis Ababa. With the addition of Lyon, The Airlines now serves three destinations in France-Paris, Marseille, and Lyon, further reinforcing its presence in the French market and strengthening its footprint across Europe.
