Ethio telecom has unveiled its own smart device brand, Znexus, marking a strategic step into the African smart device market. The launch, held last week at the Sheraton Addis Hotel, introduced a full suite of products, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, PCs, thin clients, and cloud workspace solutions. Chief Executive Officer Frehiwot Tamiru said the brand responds to Africa’s lingering digital gap. While telecom infrastructure has expanded across Sub-Saharan Africa, millions remain offline due to the high cost of smartphones and limited exposure to digital devices. She described Znexus as a human-centered, cloud-powered, and AI-enabled platform designed to make smart technology accessible and affordable. The initiative, Frehiwot said, is aimed at expanding digital inclusion across Ethiopia and the wider continent.
