The Ministry of Education has drafted strict regulations for distance education providers, including automatic license revocation for institutions failing national exams over two consecutive years. Grade 12 schools with pass rates below 25 pc and primary schools below 50 pc will lose their licenses, with no option to reapply. The rules also target institutions that secured licenses without proper administrative or academic readiness. The Ministry says the measures aim to enforce accountability and strengthen the sector’s organisational standards, covering all stages from curriculum development to delivery.
