The second phase of the "Tatariwochu" competition was launched with Tsehay Shiferaw, the president of Awash Bank (Center) and Nebil Kello, managing director of First Consult at the Skylight Hotel last week. Launched in both Amharic and Oromiffa the project will provide up to five million Birr operating capital in interest-free loans to the winners of an entrepreneurial competition given after capacity-building trainings. The winner will also receive an initial award of one million Birr to kick start the campaign after competing nationwide. Access to credit facilities is one of the major factors contributing to Ethiopia's poor ranking in ease of doing business with scores ranking the country 159th published last in 2019.
