The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has launched StarPay, a digital payment gateway linked to its banking platform that works both online and offline. Ephraim Mekuria, Acting President of CBE, said digital transformation is now a necessity, highlighting the app’s ease in transferring money. Developed with StarPay Financial Technologies (Eaglelion Technology Plc), the platform provides customers with seamless digital banking, payments, accounting tools, and VAT return submission to the Revenue Authority. Mekuria noted that StarPay aligns with the Digital Ethiopia 2030 agenda and meets growing demand for efficient, accessible services.
