Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) appointed Adem Mohammed (Gen) (Left) as army chief of staff of the Ethiopian National Defence Force today, replacing the deceased Seare Mekonnen (Gen) (Right).
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) appointed Adem Mohammed (Gen) as army chief of staff of the Ethiopian National Defence Force today, replacing the deceased Seare Mekonnen (Gen).
Adem was appointed chief of the National Intelligence & Security Service as a replacement of Getachew Assefa on the same date last year that Seare was named army chief of staff, replacing Samora Yunis (Gen).
Prime Minister Abiy appointed Demelash Gebremichael to take over Adem's former position at the National Intelligence & Security Service and appointed Mola Hailemariam (Lut. Gen) as chief of ground forces.
Seare was killed at his home last Saturday, June 22, 2019, with his friend Gezai Abera (Bir. Gen), a retired Defence Force member.
