Bank of Abyssinia, Fastpay Seal Digital Remittance Deal

Bank of Abyssinia has partnered with Fastpay LLC to launch a digital remittance platform powered by Cybersource technology. Signed at the Hyatt Regency on August 28, the agreement enables Ethiopians abroad and diaspora members to send money directly through the Fastpay app using Visa or MasterCard.

Fastpay says its service stands apart with instant transfers, credit card support, single transactions of up to 10,000 dollars, and zero fees. The bank expects the platform to improve customer experience while boosting foreign currency inflows and curbing reliance on informal hawala channels.
