Addis Abeba Land Development and Administration Bureau head Mekonnen Yayi assured firms the bureau will provide necessary land lists and cards to support compliance after they pay 50pc or more of lease fees upfront within 15 days to commence construction. The assurance came during consultations with 32 business organisations on Cabinet-approved development projects lacking national funding progress. Mekonnen stated the city cabinet reallocated stalled urban projects, carrying social, economic, and political land value, through cash, loans, and grants to achieve development goals. Firms must align selected sites with surrounding development for effective growth, he noted.
