Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) appointed three new vice governors and a chief economist for the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE).
Fikadu Digafe, Solomon Desta and Eyob G. Eysus, trio promoted from within the central bank, are now appointed to serve as vice governors.
Fekadu, a director of External Economic Analysis & International Relations at the central bank, is also named as chief economist filling the post that has been vacant for almost a year, following the departure of Bekalu Zeleke. Bekalu briefly stayed at the Bank replacing the long serving vice governor and chief economist Yohannes Ayalew (PhD).
Solomon, who has been a director of Bank Supervision, replaced Tiruneh Mitafa, while Eyob, director of Payment & Settlements System, is named as vice governor for Corporate services, replacing Yemane Yosief.
