Nigussie Mitiku (PhD), CEO of the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC).
Parliament approved the appointment of Nigussie Mitiku (PhD) this morning as the new CEO of the state broadcaster, the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC).
Nigussie's appointment was approved with four votes abstaining of the 305 MPs present.
Prior to his new appointment, Nigussie was serving as the secretary general of the Forum for Higher Education Institutions in Amhara Regional State, president of Debre Markos University and department head of Gonder University. He earned his masters degree and PhD from the Addis Abeba University in teaching English as a Foreign Language. Nigussie will replace Seyoum Mekonnen, who resigned two weeks ago. Before moving to the national broadcaster, Seyoum headed the Amhara Mass Media Bureau.
