Leaders of Somalia and Somaliland are expected to meet in Addis Abeba today with the hope of starting talks between their estranged governments, sources disclosed.
If successful, the meeting will register as a landmark, being the first time talks have taken place since Somaliland declared itself a republic in the early 1990s.
Somaliland's President, Musa Bini Abdi, has arrived in Addis Abeba today for an emergency meeting with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD). His counterpart, President Abdullahi Mohamed, a.k.a. Formajo, is also expected to join them later today, sources in the administration disclosed.
