Tewodros Mihret, former assistant professor at the Legal Services Department of Addis Abeba University, becomes the new Chief Justice, replacing Meaza Ashenafi.
The Parliament has approved the commission with more than two-thirds votes and three abstentions. The Parliament has also fully approved the appointment of Abeba Embialen, a former judge at the federal court, as the deputy.
